Laura G. Valencia

Laura Garofalow Valencia has spent her career showing up for kids — first as a school psychologist, then as a mentor to the next generation of educators and counselors. With degrees spanning sociology, human behavior, and school psychology, she's spent decades helping children and families navigate hard moments with care. These books grew out of that work: a way to put real, professional guidance into the hands of the people who need it most — parents, teachers, and kids themselves.

Why I Wrote Sunny's Tale...

After years spent listening to children find the words for hard things, I wanted to give them—and the adults who love them—a gentler starting point. A story that says: your voice matters, and you are never alone.
